“Taxpayers have spent nearly a quarter of a billion dollars on the toxic cleanup of Hunters Point, a prime piece of land along the southeastern shore of San Francisco. The former naval shipyard, which was once used as a research and testing lab for nuclear weapons, is now undergoing a renaissance. The city plans to turn the 800-acre site into a development mecca complete with new parks, retail stores and homes.

It is a massive project that’s decades in the making, but two high-level former technicians with intimate knowledge of the remediation effort say the cleanup is being botched and that the health and safety of the public is at risk because of it. Both say they wouldn’t live in or even visit the development planned for the site. In February, the Investigative Unit exposed that current workers also question the radiological cleanup of Hunters Point.”

They were attending a press conference by nuclear health and safety whistleblowers who worked for Tetra Tech which was involved in the falsification of testing results in the $1 billion dollar Eco-fraud scandal. This is the largest Eco Fraud in the United States but has not been covered by the major corporate media. Sample and Patterson are both cancer survivors who say that their cancers were directly caused by the highly contaminated Naval nuclear training site at the island. Kamala Harris who was formerly San Francisco District Attorney and California Attorney General before becoming a Senator, was personally aware of the charges of falsification of testing at SF Treasure Island and also the Hunters Point shipyard. While in her position in San Francisco and as California Attorney General she refused to conduct any investigation about the illegal firing of 6 Tetra Tech whistleblowers as well as other whistleblowers at the shipyard. Two managers of Tetra Tech are presently in prison for engaging in falsification of testing of radioactive material by Tetra Tech. Senator Kamala Harris has remained completely silent about this massive $1 billion criminal fraud scandal despite being personally contacted by residents and whistleblowers. She has also been silent about continued Federal contracts to Tetra Tech and it’s subsidiaries despite the massive criminal conspiracy to defraud the US government and public about the radioactive clean-up at Hunters Point Naval shipyard and Treasure Island.

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi has covered up the criminal activity by Lennar Urban and Tetra Tech and members of her family work for Lennar Urban that are pushing these developments on radioactive dump sites.”

‘Navy review finds “inconsistencies” in cleanup contractor’s radiation data and says a good portion of it is likely fraudulent.

The Navy has decided to retest all of the Hunters Point Shipyard for radiation after losing confidence in Tetra Tech, the contractor it hired to clean up contamination.

A yearlong review of Tetra Tech’s radiation data by Navy consultants found that nearly half of it may have been faked. The consultants found inconsistencies in Tetra Tech’s test results and the Navy said that a good portion of it is likely fraudulent.

The revelations are the latest setback for the shipyard, the superfund site along San Francisco’s southeastern waterfront that’s slated for major redevelopment, including homes, parks and shops.”
